What the program is

PassQR Tag owners can choose to receive a text message when a member of the public scans a tag attached to the owner's own vehicle, pet collar, bag or property. Text alerts are a fallback channel: PassQR sends one only when the owner's push notification has not been acknowledged.

Every text is generated by PassQR from a fixed template. It names the alert category the scanner selected from PassQR's list (for example “Lights left on” or “Child or pet inside”) and includes a link to read and reply in the app. Free-text written by the person who scanned the tag is never sent by SMS.

Who receives texts

Only the registered tag owner, at a number they entered and verified themselves. People who scan a tag are never asked for a phone number and never receive a text from PassQR.

How you opt in

In the PassQR Tag app, open Settings → Text alerts.
Enter your mobile number under the disclosure shown below.
Enter the one-time code we text to that number. No alerts are sent until the code is confirmed.

Frequency, cost, stopping and help

Message frequency: varies with how often your tags are scanned. Most owners receive fewer than five texts per month.

Cost: message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.

Opt out: reply STOP to any message, or remove your number in the app under Settings → Text alerts. You will receive one confirmation text and nothing further.

Help: reply HELP to any message, or email support@passqr.com.

Your number

We use your number for one purpose: delivering the scan alerts you asked for. No mobile information and no SMS consent data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are shared only with our messaging provider (Twilio) to deliver your messages, and where required by law. Removing your number deletes it from our records.

These alerts are not an emergency service. If a person or animal is in danger, call your local emergency number.
